About MISA

Our Mission

Men’s Information and Support Association (MISA) is a not-for-profit community organisation that provides counselling and support services for all men, women, families, and youth in the community. Since it was established in 1997 in Strathpine , MISA has provided a safe and supportive environment where men can express themselves with confidence and security.

Who We Help

While specialising in working respectfully with men in the community, MISA regards the contribution of women, families, friends and youth as important and endeavours to include all parties in the healing and development process.

How We Help

Counselling sessions are available for individuals, couples, youth, and families. MISA offers workshops to manage issues of  emotion regulation and individual and couple parenting sessions. MISA can provide referrals to other service providers for needs relating to accommodation, family court, and other legal matters, gambling and mental health concerns.

Our Fees

MISA is  partially funded by the Department of Social Services Family and Relationships Services as part of The Department’s Stronger Outcomes for Families Initiative.  This allows MISA to keep fees for counselling to a minimum.  MISA will ensure that all people have access to quality counselling services despite their financial position.

Individual counselling sessions are $60 per hour

Couples sessions are charged at $80 per one hour session

We can negotiate fees for those in financial hardship.
